Recover Admin Security

Remove a forgotten local administrator credential from a meter linked to your IAMMETER account. Sign in first, then get a fresh challenge from your meter.

  1. On the meter’s local network, open http://<device-ip>/api/admin/recovery_challenge and copy the complete JSON response.
  2. Paste it below and request a recovery result. Only meters listed under your IAMMETER account can be recovered.
  3. Submit the resulting JSON as an application/json POST to http://<device-ip>/api/admin/recovery. A successful response removes local Admin Security.

Do not request another challenge or reboot the meter between these steps. Either action invalidates the previous result. If recovery fails, get a new challenge and start again.
